Martina Franca is a fourteenth-century town located on the southern foothills of the Murge, at 431 m. above sea level, lying on one of the last hills of the south-eastern Murgia, between the Ionian and the Adriatic.

The city dominates the enchanting Valle d'Itria, splendid green expanse where the landscape is dotted with Trulli, lamias, "masserie", typical buildings and precious testimonies of a productive and splendid architectural environment.

The city is known for its baroque architecture and the Valle d’Itria music festival.

Every summer, for over 40 years, Martina Franca becomes the Apulian capital of Belcanto, held from mid-July to mid-August, in the atrium of the Palazzo Ducale Martina Franca, il Festival Della Valle D'Itria, aimed at opera and symphonic music lovers.

Along with the Festival, there are numerous tourist and cultural initiatives that animate the city both in the summer and in the winter period such as the "Biennale delle Memorie", "Martina Angioina", the "Festival del Cabaret", the "Festival dei Sensi" and the "White Week"nel periodo natalizio.

It is sufficient to enter the ancient village to immerse yourself in a magical and graceful atmosphere, with its narrow streets, its alleys, the noble palaces and the majestic and monumental churches, in which art masterpieces are preserved (for this Martina is "City of art and culture") made by painters, sculptors and marble-makers of the Eighteenth-century Neapolitan School.

Martina Franca is rich in agricultural and food excellences, such as wine, oil, dairy and oven products, meats and cured meats, made by local craftsmen who preserve craftsmanship and tradition, a vehicle for the flavors, tastes and customs of our community.

Among these productions stand out Capocollo of Martina Franca, Slow Food Presidium, and wines based on two native varieties, the Verdeca and the Bianco d’Alessano that express our well-known food and wine identity.

Even the naturalistic landscape is a great tourist attraction due to the extensive oak forests and monumental oaks.

Among these is the Regional Nature Reserve "Bosco delle Pianelle", an area rich in biodiversity with naturalistic, pedestrian and cycle paths, where you can discover the secrets of plants and wild animals that inhabit this enchanted forest.

In these woods and parks, prized breeds are bred, such as Martina Franca's donkey and the Murgese horse, noti in tutto il mondo.

Le Muse d'Itria, they are happy to be able to accommodate you, to give you the opportunity to learn about and visit this enchanting place, in one of the most evocative glimpses of Puglia, where time slows down and you can enjoy beautiful and good things.
